Summer Beauty Favourites

Oh how much I love Summer. The sun, the heat, the cute clothes, all the fun activities you could do, no school..you guys get the idea. But as they say, all good things must come to an end. So to bid farewell to sweet ol' summer, I thought I'd share a few products that I've been using non-stop during the season.

Throughout the hot months, I've been rotating 3 foundations without exception. Firstly is the it Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream. I'm sure everybody has seen this mentioned non-stop this season, but it's definitely for a reason! It's always a staple for me every summer. The formula is creamy and easy to work with, it feels so lightweight on the skin, it holds up amazingly on hot days, and I just so happen to have it in the shade of when I get a bit tanner. The second foundation in the line up is the Shiseido Sports BB Cream*. I reviewed this guy in this post, so it doesn't need any further introduction; just know it is amazing! Last in the rotation, and also the most newest to the collection, is The Ordinary Serum Foundation (review here). It took me so long to finally jump on the bandwagon for this guy, mainly because my shade was out of stock for the longest time, but I'm glad I finally tried it as it was definitely worth the wait.

Summer is known for late nights, but with late nights come tired eyes. Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector had my back on all those morning afters. Whenever I wear this under my concealer, it looks like I had a full 8 hours of sleep when in reality I had 2 or 3, oops. I've been going on and on about this on my blog lately, but seriously the weather this summer was kinda crappy, so I couldn't achieve that natural sun-kissed skin look. So I guess the next best thing was a faux equivalent and the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light gave me just that. A glowing highlight is a must all year 'round; my highlight of choice this season was Becca Champagne Pop. Beside it, in it's split pan, is Amaretto which is the blush shade I've been wearing most throughout the season.

Moving onto the eye area. I've been rocking a lighter shade on my brows recently as it looked a lot fresher for the summer. I couldn't get enough of the ColourPop Precision Brow Colour in Dope Taupe. It's pretty much the same concept as the ABH Dip Brow, but for a fraction of the price. I was extremely impressed at how pigmented the pomade was and found it so easy to work with and blend out throughout the brows. I completely forgot to include these in the photos, but I definitely can't leave it out of this post. The damn Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette was the palette that had it all for me this summer. The shades matched the 'heat' perfectly and there wasn't a week I would go without reaching for it. You could see the swatches over on this post

Last, but certainly not least, lip products. Now I know one certainly cannot limit herself to one lipstick, however there is one combo that I've worn on numerous occasions that I think was the perfect summer lip look. Starting off with lining my lips with MAC Stripdown, then swiping a bit of Velvet Teddy in the centre. It created a look that was fresh and not too heavy-looking.

Although I'm sad to see summer go, I'll be very much looking forward to transitioning into some more fall and cooler weather products. The thought of wearing some darker/bolder lipsticks and smokey & sultry eye makeup has me a little more welcoming towards the Autumn.

Products marked with a (*) were sent to me for consideration. All opinions are my own.
