The Ombre Lip ft. Laneige Two Tone Lipsticks

A few weeks ago, I attended the Laneige Toronto launch party for their Two Tone Lipsticks* (see post here). They were nice enough to send everybody home with 8 shades of these gorgeous lipsticks. On the ride home, I was so tempted to just pop these out of their packaging and swatch every last one of them; but like a good beauty blogger, I resisted so that I could take a few snaps of them while they were looking brand spankin' new the next day.

If you guys/gals haven't heard of Laneige before...are you living under a rock?! Well, they're a Korean beauty brand that is best known for their amazing skincare products. I've tried a few from them before; more specifically, their Water Bank Serum* (which I'm currently out of, but I loved that stuff!) and the Lip Sleeping Mask (aka the only lip treatment that actually works for me). So I was super excited to try these new lipsticks as the brand has yet to let me down.

The reason these are called "Two Tone" is because of the unique, dual-colour design that revolutionizes how to create the perfect, effortless gradient lip - or as I like to call, the ombre lip. These lipsticks were created keeping in mind the coveted K-Beauty look of youthful-looking, fuller lips. Each lipstick's colour combination is makeup artist-curated to instantly complement lips with vivid, chic colour. You can't really tell from my photos, but they all have a custom oblique cut that ensures a crease-free, precise application that blends the two shades and imparts a perfect gradation with every swipe. All lipsticks are creamy and smooth in texture and leaves a nice sheen to the lips.

L-R: Magenta Muse, Red Blossom, Pink Salmon, Milk Blurring, Cashmere Nude, Juicy Pop, Burgundy Love, Dear Pink
One thing I really liked about these are their packaging. Each are stored in a very sturdy, yet lightweight casing. Unlike regular lipsticks that are twist-ups, these actually have a little slider on the sides to push up the product. Overall, I'm extremely happy with these lipsticks, with Cashmere Nude being my favourite. Ombre lips are a breeze to create with these lovelies.

If you're interested in picking up one of these Two Tone Lipsticks* from Laneige, they're currently available at Sephora online & in-store, for us North Americans. As for the rest of the world, I recommend popping by Laneige's website to see where their nearest stockist is to you.

Products marked with a (*) were sent to me for consideration. All opinions are my own.

Have you ever rocked an ombre lip?
