The Perfect Spring Lipsticks

The official first day of Spring is just right around the corner and I couldn't be more excited. Even though the weather in Toronto isn't showing signs of warming up any time soon, I have no problem pulling out a few Spring-appropriate lipsticks in hopes that the heat will finally make an appearance.

When I think of Spring, I think of bright pink lipsticks. Well, not too bright because those just don't look flattering on me. I guess, it's more about stepping away from my usual brownish lipsticks and moving a few shades towards the pinker side of the spectrum. But before we stray too far, I want to mention Kat Von D's Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow. The KVD liquid lipstick formula is my favourite in the market at the moment, so there was no way I wasn't going to include at least one shade in this post. In the swatches below, it looks more of a brown but on me, it's a nice nude that I'll be rocking a lot during the Spring time. Another nude-ish shade is MAC Kinda Sexy. It's a matte lipstick and with a little hint of pink, it's perfect for the coming season. For a lighter/natural option, I like reaching for the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien. I received it last year in Sephora's birthday gift. It's a beautiful satin finish lip pencil that just glides on the lips. It's a nice one to just throw on for those no-makeup makeup days. If you want to keep up with this year's beauty trends, then a glossy lip is the way to go. My gloss of choice is the Cailyn Art Touch Tinted Lipgloss Stick in Basic Instinct. I actually have no idea where I got this (I think my mom gave it to be or I won it in a giveaway), but it's such a beautiful gloss. It's a really pigmented peachy-pink shade that glides on so smoothly onto the lips. Lastly, and the pinkest option of them all, is the Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in Melted Peony. This is a little too bright for my liking, so I always like to line my lips with a darker shade to fix that. I think this is a shade that would look lovely on a lot of different skin tones. I could picture myself wearing this on a beautiful Spring day with the sun shining and everything (oh Summer please come soon!).
