The Skincare Edit
Over the past few years, I've been dabbling in and out of the skincare world and it wasn't until last year that I started getting more serious about it. I mean, I'm not getting any younger, so it finally hit me that I've got to start taking good care of my skin. Now I'm not claiming to be a skincare expert, but I have found a bunch of products that work for me and I'm ready to share them.

When you wear makeup for long hours of the day, you better have a good cleanser to wash it all off. Recently, I've fallen into the whole 'double cleanse' trend and I find that it really does help get rid of all the gunk I have piled up on my face. First off, I like to use the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm to take off my makeup. This stuff literally melts away my makeup and surprisingly, as it's a balm, it doesn't leave my skin feeling slick/greasy once it's washed off.
Following that, I like to go in with the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Foaming Daily Cleanser. This was actually a cleanser that was recommended to my boyfriend by his dermatologist. After trying it out a few times, it quickly replaced the cleanser I was previously using. It cleanses all the the left over makeup that the cleansing balm might have missed and my face feels super refreshed after.

Before moving onto moisturizers, I like to go in with a few serums. To keep my skin clear and blemish-free, I've been using The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. I'm currently on my second bottle and all I can say is: ever since I introduced it into my routine, I've not had any breakouts (even when that time of the month comes around). The second serum I've been loving is also from The Ordinary; the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (review here) has been treating me real good lately. To name a third one, I'd have to mention The Body Shop's Drops of Light Pure Healthy Brightening Serum. Whenever I use this, my skin just drinks it up so fast and by morning my face looks ten times healthier and radiant than the night before.
Next, I'll throw on the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Boosting Essence Water. From Vichy's website, this essence is formulated to help boost the effectiveness of your creams and serums and I can definitely agree with that. Also, something to note, I've had this deluxe sample size since around mid-November and have used it every single day since then - there's still some product left, so a little goes an extremely long way. Though I'm nearly finished it, I won't hesitate to repurchase.

Last in my routine is a moisturizer. It's been a huge key in my regimen. To be honest, I didn't know the importance of a moisturizer up until a few years ago and once I started using one, it was a game-changer; my skin has thanked me ever since. The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, which I reviewed recently (here), has been doing a good job. But the cream that steals the spotlight is the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream. This formula delivers the exact hydration my skin needs and it has such a pleasantly fresh scent. Until I'm introduced to something even better than this, I believe this'll be my holy grail moisturizer.
Which skincare bits have you been loving?
