Review | B.O. Essentials Rejuvenating Rose & Geranium Facial Sugar Scrub
One of my favourite things about the beauty world is that there are so many products out there to try. Whether it's a highly known brand or an 'underground' brand, I love trying out new products. The product I'll be talking about today is from one of those 'underground' brands - it's the Rejuvenating Rose & Geranium Facial Sugar Scrub* from B.O. Essentials.
A little about the brand - B.O. Essentials, standing for Blessed Organic Essentials, was established on October 2014. They specialize in producing quality, all-natural & organic skincare products. The products are handcrafted in small batches. They're formulated to work with a variety of different skin types (from dry to oily, combination) and various skin conditions. In them, they use 100% Certified Organic Oils infused with a bunch of different herbs & plants made to do everything from soothe, heal, relax, and revitalize the body.
About the product - The Rejuvenating Rose & Geranium Facial Sugar Scrub* is an exfoliating sugar scrub which B.O. Essentials claims to aid in skin cell renewal, minimizes pores, and removes dirt and oil from your skin. It's ingredients include coconut oil, sugar cane, rose oil, geranium oil, grapefruit extract, and tocopherol (vitamin E). The suggested method of use is to moisten hands & face with water, rub a small amount of product in your hands, massage it onto the face/neck area for a few minutes, then rinse away with lukewarm water.
My thoughts on the product - On first impression, the scent of this is very strong, especially while applying. It is a strong rose & geranium scent (of course). I was a bit put off on how overpowering it was. I'm not sensitive when it comes to scented products, but this one definitely caught me off guard. I like the smell of rose, however, I feel like the geranium was much more evident in it..Long story short, I'm not the biggest fan of the scent. If you can overlook that, then keep reading..
Despite the scent, it did do it's job as an exfoliator. It wasn't too rough compared to other exfoliators, it was gentle yet still effective. After rinsing it off, my face feels super soft and even a little moisturized, however I do follow through with a moisturizer afterwards. Thankfully, the scent isn't as strong once it is washed off. Looking back to B.O. Essential's claims, I must agree that it does work to aid in skin cell renewal. However, I can't really speak on the minimization of pores as mine are not large, so I haven't really noticed any changes on that end. As for the claim of removing dirt and oils from the skin, I do have to agree with the removal of dirt, but not so much oils since the product does have a lot of other oils in it.
