Beauty Trends of 2017

As with every new year, new trends surface. Today I'll be sharing some of the beauty trends that are said to be making a big appearance during the year of twenty-seventeen. After scavenging the web, I noticed a specific theme with all of these trends: this year will be the year for enhancing your natural beauty. Curious? Here are a few things that you'll be seeing a lot of this year:

Over the past year, it's been all about the matte lips. In 2017, however, it's said that we'll be seeing less matte and more creamy, sheer, or glossy lips. Personally, I like a more matte lip as I find that it lasts much longer than any other formulas, but on the other hand I do like the more moisturizing feeling that a creamier lipstick gives me. I think it'll be an equal mix of both this year.

I feel like this is nothing new to the beauty scene as I know so many bloggers who love that glowy skin look. With that said, I feel like the youthful/glowing skin look is so popular that it'll spread like wild fire this year. As much as I love the matte skin trend that we had going on for so long, I'm really starting to like the look of healthy, radiant, luminous skin more. Which finish do you prefer?

If you haven't seen this trend around yet, where have you really been? Natural, bushy brows are making a big comeback this year. All the rage lately has been the soap brow technique. I feel like that technique is great for people with already nice, dark natural brows, but not too ideal for individuals with very fine brow hairs, like I. Nonetheless, I believe we can still pull off this look; using a brow pencil to create light strokes that mimic the look of brow hairs will help us achieve the natural, full brow.

This may come as a shock to some people, specifically the one's who love to highlight 'til they're able to blind someone. But surprisingly, people are opting for a more gentle, natural highlight. Going with the whole natural beauty thing, it'll be more about that "lit from within" vibe this year. My favourite way to achieve that is by using a cream or liquid highlight as they tend to melt into your skin compared to powder highlighters.

Are there any trends I missed? Will you be trying any of these?
