Brow Gel Showdown | Glossier Boy Brow vs. Benefit Gimme Brow

When it comes to makeup, brow products have to be my favourite ever. I think my obsession with them comes from the fact that my eyebrows are 'barely there'. Meaning my brow hairs are naturally so thin that they're not that noticeable and don't have any definition to them. So I've come to love brow products as they give me the eyebrows that I've always dreamt of having, even if it is only temporary.

Keeping Skin Youthful & Radiant | Pura Organics

How fortunate are we, bloggers, to be able to learn about new brands and try new products that we possibly wouldn't have heard about if we weren't apart of the blogosphere? The answer is VERY. The newest brand on my radar is Pura Organics. If you haven't heard about the brand, they're the first preventative anti-aging skincare line developed for women in their 20s and 30s, by women in their 20s and 30s. Their products are made from the highest quality of natural ingredients and are also cruelty-free.

Stripes and Greenery | OOTD

Stepping away from beauty for today's post... I haven't done an outfit post in ages. The first and only #ootd I did was a few months after I started blogging and it only consisted of one photo (you can see it over here). I actually really love seeing other bloggers' fashion posts, but when it comes to me creating one, it's more than likely a fail...for two main reasons: I don't have anyone to take good photos of me and I get extremely awkward when it comes to taking pictures in public.

However, when Tobi got in touch with me for a collaboration, I knew I had to get over myself, combat my shyness, and take some damn outfit photos. So here's a few snaps of how I styled one of their pieces and me attempting to pose with faux confidence:
Mesh Purse | Zara
Velvet Block Heels | Zara (similar: here/here)
Sunglasses | The Bay (similar: here)
Monogram Necklace* | Soufeel

Products marked with a (*) were sent to me for consideration. All opinions are my own.

What are your tips for posing/taking photos in public places?

New Foundation On The Block | The Ordinary Serum Foundation

So if you haven't heard of this foundation yet, are you even in the loop?! The Ordinary Serum Foundation has been making it's rounds throughout the beauty blogosphere for quite some time now. To be completely honest, when it first came out, I had no idea about it. Then everybody started talking (more like raving) about it, so naturally I had to get my hands on it.

Getting The Full Effect of Vitamin C With Mary Kay

Who knew that Vitamin C was so good for you? Ok, I'm sure everyone knew that. But I had no idea just how beneficial it was to incorporate it in your skincare routine. Skincare is a learning process! From what I've gathered, Vitamin C is known to help the skin look more radiant and even-toned, and also supports natural collagen and elastin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. In addition to that, Vitamin C is a valuable antioxidant that helps protect against air pollution and other environmental factors.

Personalized Jewelry ft. Soufeel

When it comes to jewelry, I've never been obsessed. I don't what it was, but accessorizing was never important to me. Whenever I did shop for jewelry, it was always something simple like little studs, really minimal necklaces, etc. However, one thing that hits my soft spot is personalized jewelry.

Five Face Masks To Try

Before becoming a blogger, I was never much into skincare. That all changed within a year and a half, and I've been dabbling into the gigantic world of skincare a whole lot this year. One thing I've not tried much of though are face masks. I think that first time I ever tried one was late last year, so I'm extremely late to the game. Lately, I have been trying to explore more masks, so here are a few masks that I've used up lately and how they worked for me.

This Should Be Your 2017 Makeup Bible

Every new season comes with a new set of rules. While some things stay pretty much the same, others go through quite a transformation, and beauty is no exception. If remained unchanged we would still be wearing a lip liner in a shade that isn’t even close to the one of the lipstick – never forget the nineties. However, this is not about dwelling on the past; it’s about welcoming and embracing the future of fashion. Aside from the trends to follow regarding makeup techniques and looks that are guaranteed to rule this year and perhaps even the next one, there is one other thing highly worth mentioning – the type of makeup.

This Summer's Hottest Palette | Urban Decay Naked Heat

Introducing the palette of the Summer.... The Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette! There was absolutely no way in heck that I was going to pass this one up. I have a crap load of eyeshadow palettes in my collection and prior to this purchase I bought another eye palette, but can anybody really blame me?! I mean this palette is absolutely stunning!

The Best Way To Store Your Beauty Sponge

There's no doubt that beauty sponges are my favourite beauty tool to apply foundation, concealer, and even setting powder. The beautyblender in particular is my go-to. But when all the makeup is on and it's time to leave behind all the tools, I always struggle with where to store my sponge. In the past, I would just perch it on top of the cylinder packing it came on, but when I'd get back home, the bottom would still be damp - which for some reason makes me feel like a lot of bacteria can breed on. Like I said, it was always a struggle until Basic Beauty Tools followed me on Instagram and the whole game changed. Basically, they created the perfect product to take care of my beauty sponge storing woes.

Revlon #ColorStayAll Day Event & Haul

Being a beauty blogger comes with so many benefits and experiences that I'll be forever grateful for. I've had the opportunity to try out brands that I never would have discovered if I didn't start blogging. But one of my favourite things about being a beauty blogger is being invited to special events.

My Week In Lipsticks

Whew! This week is finally over and done with. For the first time in 2017, I feel like time went pretty slow. Nonetheless, I'm happy that it's finally the weekend and I can relax and take time for myself. Today, I'll be recapping my week in lipsticks. I've always seen other beauty bloggers doing this type of post, but I never really had the chance to do it because most of the time I'd be home and would only use a lip balm. This week has been pretty busy and I was able to wear something different every day of the week, so I thought this was the perfect time to finally do my take on this post.

New In Haircare | Schwarzkopf

When it comes to beauty, haircare comes last on my list. I never really paid attention to hair products and always used whatever was in my shower. That was a few years ago when my hair was long, silky and 'full'. For the past year or so, my neglect towards the hair products that I used really started to show. My hair is now flat, thin, and even shedding a ton. After the realization of how much has changed, I decided to finally start caring more about what I put into or on my hair.

Half Year Roundup & Giveaway

Today marks the day that I've officially been blogging for 1.5 years! I feel like time is really zooming by this year and I can barely keep up. Honestly, creating a blog has to be one of the best ideas that ever came to me haha. I've learnt so much throughout a short period of time and I've e-met a ton of wonderful people. I always see people on Twitter complaining about the bitchiness of the beauty side of the blogosphere, but I've personally never encountered nor witnessed any of the sorts, so I just have to say that I'm happy I'm surrounded by such nice and supportive bloggers.

New In | Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown is a brand that I've known about for as long as I could remember, but haven't had the chance to try a lot from them. Before this, the only product I've owned from the brand was an eyeshadow in the shade Khaki. While doing my usual rounds on the Sephora site a week or two ago, I came across a 500 point perk featuring Bobbi Brown's top sellers. Since I've been meaning to try the brand for the longest time, I thought this would be the perfect introduction.

The Beauty Rundown | June 2017

Today is marks Canada's 150th birthday and it also means that we are halfway through the year. Time passes by so fast, it's crazy! It's time for another beauty rundown. This month, I've been trying out three products from Shiseido that were sent to me via Influenster. These are the first products I've tested for the brand and so I had no idea what to expect. Let's get into my reviews!

Shiseido Sports BB Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ Wet Force* | The last time I tried a BB cream, I absolutely hated it (the Garnier one if you're curious) so I wasn't expecting to like this one at all. However my mind was changed immediately after the first day I used it. The formula is very runny and it's easy to blend it into the skin. With one application, I get a good light coverage but since it is so thin, I think it'd be one of those foundations that won't cake up after the second or even third layer. What I do notice about it though is that it does oxidize a tiny bit, so I don't think I'll be able to use this during the Winter when my skin is really light. What I've been doing to fix that is using a lighter-toned concealer in the centre of my face so that it doesn't look a solid colour on my face. Overall, I really like this one and have been wearing it to work often. It's lasted me more than an 8 hour shift, so that should say something about this guy!

Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil* | I thought it was really cool that this was included in the Influenster Voxbox. I love cleansers and I'm always down to try some new ones. I found this one to be pretty effective in removing my makeup, however it's not as good as my go-to - the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. This one came in a deluxe sample size, so I'll definitely be popping this into my travel makeup bag to use when I'm away from home.

Shiseido Urban Environment UV Protection Cream* | I'm so glad this came in the box as well because I've been in the market for a new sun cream. I lost my Neutrogena one and with the sun beaming down on us lately, I was glad to have found this one. One thing I really like about this sunscreen is that it doesn't have that bleh scent that typical sunscreens smell like; it actually has a quite pleasant smell. The cream is also quite thick, but is easy to rub into the skin. It sits well under makeup and doesn't alter the application of foundation at all.

Five Faves | Hourglass Cosmetics

Back at it again with another Five Faves post and this time 'round I'll be focusing on Hourglass Cosmetics. I've stated this on my blog a couple of times and I have no problem saying it again: Hourglass is a brand that has never disappointed me. I mean it. Everything I've tried from the brand so far, I've loved! There's no doubt that HG is one of my favourite makeup brands.. ever. Before I overly professing my love for them, let's just jump into my top five from the brand.

The Summer Weekend Staples

Ah, the weekend.. tgif! Summer is my favourite season and Saturday & Sunday are my favourite days of the week. Put both of them together and I'm at total bliss. As long as the sun is shining and I don't have to do anything work-related, I'm good. Now that the most wonderful time of the year (aka summer) is here, I thought it'd be a great time to share some essentials.

Summer Fashion Must-Haves

A few posts ago, I mentioned that Toronto weather has been complete crap. But it's like I jinxed myself because right after that and up 'til now, the weather has been amazing. (Okay seriously?! I jinxed myself again! The thunder is going hard right now!) Anyways.. Since the official first day of Summer is right around the bend, I thought I would share some fashion bits that'll be very popular this season.

Makeup Artist Secrets For A Total Makeover in 5 Minutes

We’ve all been there; we’re in a rush, but we certainly don’t want that to stand in the way of looking like absolute perfection. While there are many makeup tutorials out there, and if you have watched any (and we know you have) you know that they usually involve intricate and complex looks, and take an eternity to pull off (if you can at all). Even with editing, these looks take at least half an hour to complete, and that’s only the time it takes for the youtuber in question. In search of tips that are easier to incorporate, perhaps it’s time to listen to some of the world’s most renowned makeup artists, and achieve a great look in no time.

Product Empties #5

It's time for another product empties. I mentioned in my May Goals that I wanted to finish up at least two products that month and I actually did! To be honest, I wanted to include a lot more stuff in this  post but these bits have been taking up a lot of unnecessary space and I just felt like a declutter was in need. Let's dive into my trash bin:

The Ombre Lip ft. Laneige Two Tone Lipsticks

A few weeks ago, I attended the Laneige Toronto launch party for their Two Tone Lipsticks* (see post here). They were nice enough to send everybody home with 8 shades of these gorgeous lipsticks. On the ride home, I was so tempted to just pop these out of their packaging and swatch every last one of them; but like a good beauty blogger, I resisted so that I could take a few snaps of them while they were looking brand spankin' new the next day.

June Goals & May Update

We've reached the half point of the year! Is it just me or is 2017 just zooming by? Oh how happy am I that we're finally in the Summer months. Everything outside keeps looking better and better - well, besides the rain that Toronto has been getting lately. It's a drag. Speaking of rain, that's an excuse of not completing my Start Going On Walks goal from last month, right? May was supposed to be about flowers, not rain, but we actually got a ton of rain on this end so I wasn't able to do much walking. Also, eating healthier was a complete fail. There were a ton of events that were happening during May and it just wasn't the right time to put that on my list of goals (that's me trying to make myself feel better for eating like crap).

First Time Wearing Extensions | Best Hair Store

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to try hair extensions. This is especially true for those times in the past when I decided to cut my hair short. And I'm sure everyone could relate to that moment; hugely regretting snipping off your long, luscious locks. Anyways, even though I don't have short hair right now, I was still excited to finally be trying some extensions.

June Makeup Menu

I feel like I haven't done one of these posts in a long while. In fact, I believe the last one was back in February. I'm blaming it on the fact that I purchased quite a few things in March/April, so there was just a ton of things I was trying out. The other day, I started switching out and pulling up some products for my vanity (aka the things I'll be using most of the time). Here are some of the bits that I'll be using for June:

Makeup Look | Styling Leong Cosmetics Faux Mink Lashes

If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I love false lashes. They just make the makeup look a whole lot better. And I think a lot of my adoration for them comes from the fact that I have naturally short, barely-noticeable eyelashes, so the feeling of having long and fluttery ones are a dream even if it's only for a few hours. When Leong Cosmetics slid into my DM's and asked me if I wanted to try their lashes, I said yes instantly.

Loving Lately | May Favourites

I feel like I've been completely slacking on blogging lately. I usually post every other day, but that hasn't been the case as of late and it's really bothering me. I kind of want to blame it on the weather because it's been so gloomy lately to the point that it's a complete mood killer. I'm hoping it starts to be more Summer-y very soon so I could get back on the ball. Anyways, I know I don't normally do monthly favourites on my blog, but there have been a bunch of things getting a ton of love from me lately that I wanted to share.

What's On My iPhone?

I wouldn't consider myself a nosy person, but when it comes to iPhones, I'm always curious about which apps people have on theirs. So for anybody who wants to take a peak into mine, this one's for you. Though I must warn you, you may be left very underwhelmed with what I keep on here.

An Ode To The Beautyblender

If someone were to ask me if there was a single (yes, just one) beauty product I could not live without, I would say the beautyblender without hesitation. I really can't remember the last time I was without one and frankly..I don't want to remember.

#TwoToneInToronto | Laneige Two Tone Lipsticks

The other day, I attended a party held by Laneige to celebrate their new Two Tone Lipsticks in Toronto. The event was held in a beautiful space and the whole evening was more elegant than I could ever imagine. I went with one of my best friends; to say that we were swooning all night is an understatement.

Five Faves | NARS

I'm back with another instalment of my Five Faves series. This time I'll be talking about NARS Cosmetics. It's a brand I've always admired, especially for their packaging. Their simple black packaging always seemed so luxe to me. A vanity full of only their makeup is surely a minimalist's dream. But not only are their packaging luxe, but so are their products. Everything I've tried from them so far have not let me down and instead wow'd me every time. Here are my top picks from them:

The Urban Decay Naked Palette Showdown

Nobody could deny the amazing-ness of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes. I'm pretty sure that the first one they came out with was my first high end eyeshadow palette I added to my collection. It was so good that over the years, I ended up picking out the next two they released. I don't regret these purchases at all because they're all so pretty. But to someone just starting their makeup collection or on a budget, do you really need all three? Probably not. So which one is the best to pick up? Let's find out:

The No-Makeup Makeup Edit

Even though I mentioned in my May Goals that I would start playing with makeup more, I can't deny my love for minimal makeup at the moment. It's pretty much a look I've been wearing a ton, especially when my dad wants to make spur-of-the-moment plans to go out & wants to leave the house asap. Not only do I like this look because it's easy & fast to do (literally 10 minutes or less), but it's also a look that enhances natural beauty instead of hiding it.

Pre-Spending Ban Haul ft. Sephora & ColourPop

Two hauls in 2 weeks? Who the hell do I think I am? Well, I better soak it all in now because this is going to be my last one in a very, very long time. If you read my May Goals, then you know that I've officially declared another spending ban and it's very much needed. Anyways, here are the things I picked up from the Sephora VIB Sale a week or so ago. I also picked up a few bits from ColourPop during they're free worldwide shipping promo.

May Goals & April Update

We are almost half way through the year people! Can you believe that? For me, April completely flew by. I'm pretty sure that was mostly do to the fact that I was still enjoying vacay during the first half of the month. Before I start sobbing at the fact that I'm no longer basking in the sun, let's reflect back on last month's goals..

Asian Skincare | Naruko Canada's Rose & Botanic Series

A couple of weeks ago, I did shared my thoughts on the Tea Tree Series from Naruko Canada. Today I'll be talking about their Rose & Botanic Series. When it comes anything rose-scented, I'm all in. So when I received this series, I was over the moon & extremely excited to try it. All of these smell just like rose and it's something that lingers for a while, so if you're sensitive to scents, you may want to avoid these. This series is mostly meant for hydrating the skin. Here are the bits that were sent to me from the Rose & Botanic Series:

A New Liquid Lipstick | Cougar Beauty

Anybody remember the song Pullin' Me Back by Chingy? You know, with the lyrics "Every time I try to leave, something keeps pulling' me back telling me I need you in my life." No? Just me? Ok, well those lyrics depict my relationship with liquid lipsticks so well right now. As I'm slowly trying to get back into the world of creamy and glossy lipsticks, a new liquid lip pops up and I find myself obsessed with them all over again. The one that 'pulled me back' this time was one from Cougar Beauty.
