Easy Halloween Nails + Giveaway!

Once upon a time, I loved doing my nails. I used to paint them every week and do the whole design bit.... and then I had a child. Now I never have time to do my nails and I'm stuck to just getting them done every once in a while. However, when Nail Polish Canada got in contact with me and sent me the Whats Up Nails Graveyard Nail Vinyls*, I finally had the chance (and motivation to do my nails).

Keeping Your Sun-Kissed Glow After Summer

Keeping Your Sun-Kissed Glow After Summer With Melanie Mills Hollywood Body Radiance
One of the most saddest things about the seasons changing is losing your sun-kissed glow and the colour that only the summer sun can give your skin. I especially hate seeing the tan-ness of my legs starting to disappear. I much prefer when there's a bit of colour to my legs. I know a lot of people like to cheat the system and go to tanning beds, but to my understanding, those are extremely bad for your skin/health. The easiest way (and safest way) to get around it, in my opinion, would be self-tanners and tinted body creams.

The Only Lipsticks I'll Be Rocking This Season + Mini Haul

The Only Lipsticks I'll Be Rocking This Season + Mini Haul | ft. NUDESTIX & MAC
So.. I did the unthinkable. After an hour of sorting through my stash and swatching my whole left arm, I actually down-sized my lipstick collection! It was definitely an impulse move on my part. One day I was scrolling through Instagram and a moment of realization just hit me out of no where - why in the f*ck do I have so many lipsticks?! I mean I only rotate a few, so why let the unfortunate few waste away in my drawers? It was hard and I got rid of a lot - and I'm taking high end, drugstore and a TON of MAC *sobs*. The ladies in my family were definitely feasting on more than just turkey this past Thanksgiving weekend!

Transitional Foundation Picks | Autumn Edit

Transitional Foundation Picks | Autumn Edit ft. The Ordinary, Too Faced, Nars
There was a time, not too long ago, when I would love a foundation so much, then out of the blue, it would just stop working in my favour. I had no idea why until one day I realized it was due to the change of weather. Just like how you need to switch up your skincare routine with the seasons, the same thing goes for foundation.

Getting Ready For Fall Fashion

Autumn is here to stay! And with the first day of Autumn just passing us by a week ago, I don't know how much more official it can get. I'm sure by now you all know that I hate the fact that Summer is going, but I definitely can't deny my love for Fall fashion. Every year I look forward to wearing my cosy sweaters, pretty jackets, and cute booties. Here's a few of my favourite Autumn trends that I'll be wearing all season:

How To Make An Easy Transition From A Summer to Fall Beauty Routine

Despite what Lana Del Rey says, it’s definitely summertime gladness, and what’s making our hearts sad is the inevitable end of summer, it will certainly be sorely missed. Still, instead of wallowing, we should let fall come to our doorway and welcome it with open arms. Fall has numerous charms; first, there is Indian summer to look forward to, sweater weather and stylish layers, and shopping for some new beauty products. That certainly puts a smile on your face, doesn’t it? Spending some money on new skincare and makeup goodies to reflect the season is always a silver lining. To that end, we have come up with some easy to pull off tips, trick and trends to follow in order to make the summer to fall transition all the more enjoyable, so let’s dive in and see what the golden season has in store for us.

Dabbling Into Fenty Beauty | Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter

Ah, Fenty Beauty. The brand of the moment. The day the line was released, it was all I saw on social media. Though there's quite a few things in the collection to choose from, I decided to opt for one thing before shelling out wads of cash without reading reviews first on them first. The product that caught my attention and was added to my basket within seconds was Rihanna's Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby.

6 New Makeup Brushes In My Collection

There's something about new makeup brushes that just makes me so happy. For the longest time, I've been contemplating on buying some new makeup brushes, but held off because I know quality brushes come at a price. However, when I was IMATS a couple of weeks ago (see my haul here), I knew I had to grab some new new. I ended up picking up six beauties and the best part is that they weren't even too expensive.

Mary Kay's Fall Colour Collection

Mary Kay's Fall Colour Collection - The Glam Surge
Chilly mornings and the sun setting anytime before 8pm is rolling in. Though I'm not a fan of both of those, there is one thing that eases my mind when I think of Autumn - and that is Fall beauty launches! The transition of makeup from Summer to Autumn is always an interesting thing to see. One moment you're wearing light, bright colours, then all of a sudden it's all about finding the perfect berry lipstick.

Making Brush Cleaning A Tad Bit Easier ft. The Brush Bar

Makeup is such a wonderful thing. The way it enhances your beauty and the ability you have to create & express yourself through the art is pretty darn amazing. The many products that are available to do just that is endless. However it's all fun and games until you're all done and realize the tools you used to create your work of art are all filthy. Of course I'm talking about cleaning your makeup brushes - a task that nobody seems to be fond of.

Summer Beauty Favourites

Oh how much I love Summer. The sun, the heat, the cute clothes, all the fun activities you could do, no school..you guys get the idea. But as they say, all good things must come to an end. So to bid farewell to sweet ol' summer, I thought I'd share a few products that I've been using non-stop during the season.

Collective Summer Beauty Haul | ft. Glossier, Morphe, Lime Crime, Nyx

Ugh, why can't I ever keep my money in my damn pockets! I feel like I spent way too much money this summer, but ask me if I have any regrets.. nevaaa! This haul is a collective one from the start of summer up until now, so I don't think my spending was too too out of control when it comes to beauty products. A lot of these things are products I've been meaning to try or repurchase for a while now. However, if you asked me about food....no comment

Take It Or Leave It | Juvia's Place Saharan Palette

I finally caved and bought a palette from Juvia's Place. If you haven't heard about the brand..where on Earth have you been? Their eyeshadows are popular among a ton of beauty including the wonderful NikkieTutorials. When I saw a friend of mine swatch her palette on IG stories, I knew I had to try them for myself. So I ended up picking up The Saharan Palette for a pretty good price (some of their palettes are still on sale!).

The Mascara Worth The Splurge | Givenchy Noir Interdit

I literally gasped when I opened the parcel and saw Givenchy. This has to be one of the best PR gifts I have ever received. Cased in a sturdy, yet stunning tube is the Noir Interdit Mascara*. If you know me or have been around for a while, then you know that I don't get along with most mascaras. Despite me using mascara for years, I haven't actually fallen in love with a mascara up until this year - the Maybelline Lash Sensational. It seemed to be the only mascara that did anything for my lashes. So I was really curious to see if this Givenchy mascara would match up to my expectations.

Life Lately | Summer, Blogging, School

Ok, I admit it: I've been a terrible blogger lately. My blog has been a bit quiet as of late. I feel like I haven't posted anything in a while, but it's only been under a week since I last put up any content. So I thought I would do a little life update as to why I've been so absent in the blogosphere. A week may seem like a short time to some people, but for me, it feels like ages. So much that it's been giving me anxiety and it stresses me out every day when I don't post. Which will bring me to my first point:

Brow Gel Showdown | Glossier Boy Brow vs. Benefit Gimme Brow

When it comes to makeup, brow products have to be my favourite ever. I think my obsession with them comes from the fact that my eyebrows are 'barely there'. Meaning my brow hairs are naturally so thin that they're not that noticeable and don't have any definition to them. So I've come to love brow products as they give me the eyebrows that I've always dreamt of having, even if it is only temporary.

Keeping Skin Youthful & Radiant | Pura Organics

How fortunate are we, bloggers, to be able to learn about new brands and try new products that we possibly wouldn't have heard about if we weren't apart of the blogosphere? The answer is VERY. The newest brand on my radar is Pura Organics. If you haven't heard about the brand, they're the first preventative anti-aging skincare line developed for women in their 20s and 30s, by women in their 20s and 30s. Their products are made from the highest quality of natural ingredients and are also cruelty-free.

Stripes and Greenery | OOTD

Stepping away from beauty for today's post... I haven't done an outfit post in ages. The first and only #ootd I did was a few months after I started blogging and it only consisted of one photo (you can see it over here). I actually really love seeing other bloggers' fashion posts, but when it comes to me creating one, it's more than likely a fail...for two main reasons: I don't have anyone to take good photos of me and I get extremely awkward when it comes to taking pictures in public.

However, when Tobi got in touch with me for a collaboration, I knew I had to get over myself, combat my shyness, and take some damn outfit photos. So here's a few snaps of how I styled one of their pieces and me attempting to pose with faux confidence:
Mesh Purse | Zara
Velvet Block Heels | Zara (similar: here/here)
Sunglasses | The Bay (similar: here)
Monogram Necklace* | Soufeel

Products marked with a (*) were sent to me for consideration. All opinions are my own.

What are your tips for posing/taking photos in public places?

New Foundation On The Block | The Ordinary Serum Foundation

So if you haven't heard of this foundation yet, are you even in the loop?! The Ordinary Serum Foundation has been making it's rounds throughout the beauty blogosphere for quite some time now. To be completely honest, when it first came out, I had no idea about it. Then everybody started talking (more like raving) about it, so naturally I had to get my hands on it.

Getting The Full Effect of Vitamin C With Mary Kay

Who knew that Vitamin C was so good for you? Ok, I'm sure everyone knew that. But I had no idea just how beneficial it was to incorporate it in your skincare routine. Skincare is a learning process! From what I've gathered, Vitamin C is known to help the skin look more radiant and even-toned, and also supports natural collagen and elastin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. In addition to that, Vitamin C is a valuable antioxidant that helps protect against air pollution and other environmental factors.

Personalized Jewelry ft. Soufeel

When it comes to jewelry, I've never been obsessed. I don't what it was, but accessorizing was never important to me. Whenever I did shop for jewelry, it was always something simple like little studs, really minimal necklaces, etc. However, one thing that hits my soft spot is personalized jewelry.

Five Face Masks To Try

Before becoming a blogger, I was never much into skincare. That all changed within a year and a half, and I've been dabbling into the gigantic world of skincare a whole lot this year. One thing I've not tried much of though are face masks. I think that first time I ever tried one was late last year, so I'm extremely late to the game. Lately, I have been trying to explore more masks, so here are a few masks that I've used up lately and how they worked for me.

This Should Be Your 2017 Makeup Bible

Every new season comes with a new set of rules. While some things stay pretty much the same, others go through quite a transformation, and beauty is no exception. If remained unchanged we would still be wearing a lip liner in a shade that isn’t even close to the one of the lipstick – never forget the nineties. However, this is not about dwelling on the past; it’s about welcoming and embracing the future of fashion. Aside from the trends to follow regarding makeup techniques and looks that are guaranteed to rule this year and perhaps even the next one, there is one other thing highly worth mentioning – the type of makeup.

This Summer's Hottest Palette | Urban Decay Naked Heat

Introducing the palette of the Summer.... The Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette! There was absolutely no way in heck that I was going to pass this one up. I have a crap load of eyeshadow palettes in my collection and prior to this purchase I bought another eye palette, but can anybody really blame me?! I mean this palette is absolutely stunning!

The Best Way To Store Your Beauty Sponge

There's no doubt that beauty sponges are my favourite beauty tool to apply foundation, concealer, and even setting powder. The beautyblender in particular is my go-to. But when all the makeup is on and it's time to leave behind all the tools, I always struggle with where to store my sponge. In the past, I would just perch it on top of the cylinder packing it came on, but when I'd get back home, the bottom would still be damp - which for some reason makes me feel like a lot of bacteria can breed on. Like I said, it was always a struggle until Basic Beauty Tools followed me on Instagram and the whole game changed. Basically, they created the perfect product to take care of my beauty sponge storing woes.

Revlon #ColorStayAll Day Event & Haul

Being a beauty blogger comes with so many benefits and experiences that I'll be forever grateful for. I've had the opportunity to try out brands that I never would have discovered if I didn't start blogging. But one of my favourite things about being a beauty blogger is being invited to special events.

My Week In Lipsticks

Whew! This week is finally over and done with. For the first time in 2017, I feel like time went pretty slow. Nonetheless, I'm happy that it's finally the weekend and I can relax and take time for myself. Today, I'll be recapping my week in lipsticks. I've always seen other beauty bloggers doing this type of post, but I never really had the chance to do it because most of the time I'd be home and would only use a lip balm. This week has been pretty busy and I was able to wear something different every day of the week, so I thought this was the perfect time to finally do my take on this post.

New In Haircare | Schwarzkopf

When it comes to beauty, haircare comes last on my list. I never really paid attention to hair products and always used whatever was in my shower. That was a few years ago when my hair was long, silky and 'full'. For the past year or so, my neglect towards the hair products that I used really started to show. My hair is now flat, thin, and even shedding a ton. After the realization of how much has changed, I decided to finally start caring more about what I put into or on my hair.

Half Year Roundup & Giveaway

Today marks the day that I've officially been blogging for 1.5 years! I feel like time is really zooming by this year and I can barely keep up. Honestly, creating a blog has to be one of the best ideas that ever came to me haha. I've learnt so much throughout a short period of time and I've e-met a ton of wonderful people. I always see people on Twitter complaining about the bitchiness of the beauty side of the blogosphere, but I've personally never encountered nor witnessed any of the sorts, so I just have to say that I'm happy I'm surrounded by such nice and supportive bloggers.

New In | Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown is a brand that I've known about for as long as I could remember, but haven't had the chance to try a lot from them. Before this, the only product I've owned from the brand was an eyeshadow in the shade Khaki. While doing my usual rounds on the Sephora site a week or two ago, I came across a 500 point perk featuring Bobbi Brown's top sellers. Since I've been meaning to try the brand for the longest time, I thought this would be the perfect introduction.

The Beauty Rundown | June 2017

Today is marks Canada's 150th birthday and it also means that we are halfway through the year. Time passes by so fast, it's crazy! It's time for another beauty rundown. This month, I've been trying out three products from Shiseido that were sent to me via Influenster. These are the first products I've tested for the brand and so I had no idea what to expect. Let's get into my reviews!

Shiseido Sports BB Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ Wet Force* | The last time I tried a BB cream, I absolutely hated it (the Garnier one if you're curious) so I wasn't expecting to like this one at all. However my mind was changed immediately after the first day I used it. The formula is very runny and it's easy to blend it into the skin. With one application, I get a good light coverage but since it is so thin, I think it'd be one of those foundations that won't cake up after the second or even third layer. What I do notice about it though is that it does oxidize a tiny bit, so I don't think I'll be able to use this during the Winter when my skin is really light. What I've been doing to fix that is using a lighter-toned concealer in the centre of my face so that it doesn't look a solid colour on my face. Overall, I really like this one and have been wearing it to work often. It's lasted me more than an 8 hour shift, so that should say something about this guy!

Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil* | I thought it was really cool that this was included in the Influenster Voxbox. I love cleansers and I'm always down to try some new ones. I found this one to be pretty effective in removing my makeup, however it's not as good as my go-to - the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. This one came in a deluxe sample size, so I'll definitely be popping this into my travel makeup bag to use when I'm away from home.

Shiseido Urban Environment UV Protection Cream* | I'm so glad this came in the box as well because I've been in the market for a new sun cream. I lost my Neutrogena one and with the sun beaming down on us lately, I was glad to have found this one. One thing I really like about this sunscreen is that it doesn't have that bleh scent that typical sunscreens smell like; it actually has a quite pleasant smell. The cream is also quite thick, but is easy to rub into the skin. It sits well under makeup and doesn't alter the application of foundation at all.

Five Faves | Hourglass Cosmetics

Back at it again with another Five Faves post and this time 'round I'll be focusing on Hourglass Cosmetics. I've stated this on my blog a couple of times and I have no problem saying it again: Hourglass is a brand that has never disappointed me. I mean it. Everything I've tried from the brand so far, I've loved! There's no doubt that HG is one of my favourite makeup brands.. ever. Before I overly professing my love for them, let's just jump into my top five from the brand.

The Summer Weekend Staples

Ah, the weekend.. tgif! Summer is my favourite season and Saturday & Sunday are my favourite days of the week. Put both of them together and I'm at total bliss. As long as the sun is shining and I don't have to do anything work-related, I'm good. Now that the most wonderful time of the year (aka summer) is here, I thought it'd be a great time to share some essentials.

Summer Fashion Must-Haves

A few posts ago, I mentioned that Toronto weather has been complete crap. But it's like I jinxed myself because right after that and up 'til now, the weather has been amazing. (Okay seriously?! I jinxed myself again! The thunder is going hard right now!) Anyways.. Since the official first day of Summer is right around the bend, I thought I would share some fashion bits that'll be very popular this season.

Makeup Artist Secrets For A Total Makeover in 5 Minutes

We’ve all been there; we’re in a rush, but we certainly don’t want that to stand in the way of looking like absolute perfection. While there are many makeup tutorials out there, and if you have watched any (and we know you have) you know that they usually involve intricate and complex looks, and take an eternity to pull off (if you can at all). Even with editing, these looks take at least half an hour to complete, and that’s only the time it takes for the youtuber in question. In search of tips that are easier to incorporate, perhaps it’s time to listen to some of the world’s most renowned makeup artists, and achieve a great look in no time.

Product Empties #5

It's time for another product empties. I mentioned in my May Goals that I wanted to finish up at least two products that month and I actually did! To be honest, I wanted to include a lot more stuff in this  post but these bits have been taking up a lot of unnecessary space and I just felt like a declutter was in need. Let's dive into my trash bin:

The Ombre Lip ft. Laneige Two Tone Lipsticks

A few weeks ago, I attended the Laneige Toronto launch party for their Two Tone Lipsticks* (see post here). They were nice enough to send everybody home with 8 shades of these gorgeous lipsticks. On the ride home, I was so tempted to just pop these out of their packaging and swatch every last one of them; but like a good beauty blogger, I resisted so that I could take a few snaps of them while they were looking brand spankin' new the next day.
