A few weeks ago, my skin had the worst tantrum of life. The skincare routine that I've been using for over a year just stopped working for me all of a sudden. I was breaking out like crazy and I didn't know what to do. I'm saying even my Mario Badescu Drying Lotion wasn't helping me. For months, I've been saying how I was going to venture into some new skincare and with this happening, I was forced to make that a priority and find a fix asap!

Fall is the best season to bring out your darkest lipsticks, and that is exactly what I do. During any other season, I can't see myself wearing a vampy lip without it looking strange and wrong for the season. But Fall is finally upon us and I'm ready to share my favourite darker lip shades, that I've been waiting all year to wear, with everybody. Oh, and if you're wondering what that shimmery thing is in the bottom left corner of the photo is... It's a lil pumpkin that my little one made!
Covergirl Lipstick in Euphoria / I randomly picked this up without hearing anything about this shade or the lipstick collection, but fell in love. It's an amazing berry shade that is really creamy and smooth. I was really impressed with the formula as it's a drugstore/affordable lipstick. When swatched beside MAC Rebel, they're almost exactly alike. I would say that Euphoria is a little more on the red side. So if you're on a budget and lusting over Rebel, definitely pick this one up.
MAC Lipstick in Rebel / If you're not on a budget though, go ahead and pick up this cult favourite. It really is a beautiful shade and I totally get why so many people love it. The finish is a satin which I like because it's not drying on the lips. That is especially great since the weather is changing and with the colder temperature, my lips gets drier/chappy. Since it's not a matte formula, it doesn't make my lips look like crap.
MAC Lipstick in Stone / This may be a weird shade for some but to me, it's beautiful. It's a grey-toned brown with a matte finish. Like I mentioned, I tend to get drier lips so I have to moisturize really well when I use this. But regardless, I stand by what I said that it really is a beautiful shade. I've seen it worn on a bunch of different skin tones and it looks great on them all. If you don't own this one yet, you have to swatch it the next time you're at MAC.
Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Vampira / This shade is a really vampy, dark red. Just like every other shade I've mentioned, it is gorgeous! I actually wore this yesterday for the first time this season and I fell in love with it all over again. I always say how my favourite liquid lipstick brand is Kat Von D because they doesn't dry my lips out at all, so this lipstick is a double win for me.
Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Lolita / Seriously, who doesn't love Lolita?! It's another cult favourite and it's a shade that looks amazing on everybody. This shade isn't so dark, but I think it looks really pretty in the Fall season. It's a mauve/rose shade, which I am always drawn to, and again, it's a Kat Von D liquid lipstick.. So it's another winner for me!
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips in LAX / LAX is very similar to Vampira but it's a tad darker. They could definitely be dupes. I think this lipstick looks especially good on gloomier days. One of the best things about this, and the next two lipsticks, is the price point. They're very affordable, but they're still amazing quality products.
ColourPop Ultra Satin Lips in TooLips / Just like Stone, this is a satin formula, which is great for Fall. In the swatch photo, compared to Stone, they look completely different. But in person, they look more similar. Stone is more grey toned, while TooLips is more on the plum side. It looks gorgeous on the lips and the formula of these satin lipsticks are really nice.
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips in Tulle / Last but not least, another mauve-y shade. This one is more on the darker side though, which I think makes it more Fall appropriate. I like to wear mauve shades all year 'round because I think it's the best shade to suit my skin tone. This is the perfect mauve option for the season to me.

Who doesn't like going out on dates? Whether it's with your significant other or with a few friends, dates are fun. Personally, I began cherishing nights out a lot more after having a child. It's not too often that my boyfriend and I get to go out for dates, though I'm not complaining. We really love spending time as a little family. But when we do have the chance to go out, just the two of us, I always take my sweet ass time to get ready and do my makeup.

Before submerging myself into the beauty/fashion blogging world, I hadn't heard much about Asos. Now, almost everyday I see it mentioned on a few blogs that I follow. Of course that led me to go check out what they carried. And holy crap, they have a load of lovely pieces. A lot of times I find myself browsing through the site and adding a few articles of clothing into my basket. I've never actually purchased anything from the site yet, but I feel like I will be very soon.

There's officially a local Lush store near me! And by 'local' I mean a 5 minute walk from my house. Can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing (for my pocket) yet. I have a small confession though.. It was my first time actually going in longer than 5 minutes and buying something. The only other time I went into a Lush was a few years ago and I went in knowing absolutely nothing. I ended up buying the Bubblegum Lip Scrub, which was actually a good buy. But anyways, fast forward a few years later, it was extremely different this time around.

last post, you would know it was anything but that because of me binge watching the crap out of a show on Netflix.

I don't regularly do the whole 'monthly favourites' thing but I sometimes find it nice sharing some of the things I've been obsessing over as of late. I absolutely love reading people's non-beauty favourites as much as I enjoy reading their beauty favourites. So here's a little curation of goodies that I've really been fond of:

If you're a regular reader of mine, then you're probably sick and tired of hearing about my holy grail primer aka the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. Well, today my favourite primer is sharing the spotlight with a product that everyone claims to be a dupe for, the NYX Angel Veil Primer. A lot of people have told me that these were basically the same thing, so I of course got curious and decided to put them against each other for myself.

I have never met someone who said that they'd prefer short lasting makeup. Really, why would anyone ever say that? Everyone strives for their makeup to last all day, especially if their look is absolutely flawless that day. Thankfully, there are a couple of ways to keep your work of art on your face longer than you think.

I picked this up after seeing it on another beauty blog. I remember the swatch being really pretty and I was really starting liking glosses at the time, so I was determined to get my hands on this the next time I went into NYX. I'm so glad I did. The shade I snagged was Chocolate Crepe, and what a beautiful shade it is. The colour payoff of this is amazing! It also doesn't feel heavy or too sticky on the lips. NYX definitely did a good job with the formula. It gives the perfect glossy look to your lips. I'm for sure going to be picking up a few more shades.
On the same visit to NYX as mentioned above, I also went ahead and purchased this Ombre Lip Duo from them. It was mentioned on Snapchat by one of my favourite YouTube beauty gurus. The shade looked absolutely beautiful on her, so of course I had to get it. To be honest, I think this particular shade doesn't suit me as well as it did her but the formula, wow. The product itself is very creamy and easy to blend, so achieving an ombre lip with this is made extremely easy. To make this work for me, I like to pair it up with a light gloss and it makes the worlds difference. If I find a better shade option, it will be going home with me! (I actually have my eye on Rags & Riches)
I mentioned this foundation in my 'Minimal Makeup Day' post. I've used this a lot, especially on days where the weather was unbearably hot but I still wanted to put something on my face. The coverage is light to medium, but it is buildable. The finish to this is very natural, like you have a healthy glow. The foundation stays put on my face for my whole wear without budging and does not look cakey at all. This is definitely going to be my go-to for future summer months!
Read last month's beauty rundown here.
This month I'll be trying out and reviewing these products:
- Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation | Sephora, $56
- L'oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation | Drugstore, $13
- Pur~lisse Blue Lotus Essential Daily Moisturizer* | Beauty Box 5, $55

Makeup Geek shadows are the first individual pan shadows I've ever purchased. I went through a phase where I spent a bunch of money on just MUG products in a span of a few weeks. Definitely no regrets but I accumulated so many shadows from them and didn't have anywhere to store them, so I decided to buy myself a z-palette. The palette is currently pretty much filled and finished, so I decided to share the contents of it with my readers.
