Review | L'oreal Pure Clay Masks

A load of people in the beauty blogging world have been raving about these new face masks from L'oreal. When everyone first started talking about them, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them and try them out. You could imagine my disappointment when I went to 3 different drugstores and went back home empty handed. It wasn't until the next week that I was casually flipping through a flyer and saw them right smack in the middle of the page. I went to the store the following day and bought the black & green one. They didn't have the red one at the time, but I went back the following week and saw the red one (it was the last one on the shelf, lucky me!).

Each of the masks are enriched with the same 3 clays but are differentiated by their own nature-sourced ingredient. I've been both multi-masking and using them separately for a few weeks now and I'm ready to share my experience with them - so let's get to it!

Energizing & Brightening Mask (Black)
This mask's special ingredient is charcoal. It claims that it is formulated to 'fight dull skin and increase luminosity, even out skin tone, draw out build-up of impurities/dirt/pollution, and refreshes and allows skin to breath'. I 100% agree with the claims. Whenever I use this, my skin feels so clean and fresh. One of the best things about this mask is that after a while of having it on, you could clearly see the mask working and drawing out all your impurities. It's really satisfying to see it in actions. Out of the three masks, this one has to be my favourite!

Purifying & Mattifying Mask (Green)
The special ingredient in this one is eucalyptus. The claims are 'reduces excess sebum, draws out build-up of dirt and oil, removes impurities/unclogs pores, and refreshes and allows skin to breathe'. Honestly, I don't really care for this one. It basically does the same thing that the black mask does but draws out oil as well. I'm not that oily so I could definitely do without this. If you are an oilier person though, this may benefit you more than the other mask.

Exfoliating & Pore Refining Mask (Red)
Red algae is the not-so-secret ingredient in this mask. It is supposed to 'unclog/tighten pores, exfoliate dead skin cells and smooth skin texture, draws out build-up of impurities/dirt/pollition, and refreshes and allows skin to breathe'. I am so glad I got a hold of this mask, I love it. It definitely does unclog my pores and tightens them. But what I like the most is that it's also an exfoliator. It's not too rough and it leaves my skin super soft after washing it off. This was really close to being just as high praised as the black mask.

Have you tried these yet? What's your favourite skincare product from the drugstore?
