Cooking With N, Vol. 3 | Cinnamonilla Cupcakes
Today, Kayla and I made cupcakes! Last month I bought a bunch of cake/cupcake decorating supplies and I've been itching to put them to use. So I figured now would be the best time to do it.
Unlike all the other times I've made cupcakes, I actually made this one from scratch, not a ready mix that you could buy at the grocery store. For this, I used this recipe that I found online: CLICK
The only thing that I changed in the recipe was that I added a bit of cinnamon. Hence the name "Cinnamonilla" (Cinnamon + Vanilla).
My favourite part was making the frosting. Again, I used a recipe that I found online: CLICK
So for this one, I followed the recipe but I did also add some food colouring to give it that pretty pastel purple colour. I mixed blue and pink (more of the pink) to get that hue.
I used a piping bag with a tip, that I got from Wal-Mart, to create the frosting design. I started from the outer part of the bread and spiraled my way into the centre. And that's it!
It was really good. Kayla ate two within an hour, which is good and bad. Good because that means she loves them and bad because it's too much sweets for her (preparing for a hyper night).
Check out other foods that I've made here.
